Meet the Viewzi team

Brandon Cotter
Brandon Cotter // Founder & Chief Viewzer

Brandon Cotter: Brandon has been building Internet companies since 1996 when he cofounded web services firm CreateTech. The company was purchased by Broadcast.com in 1997, and then after one of the largest IPO's in NASDAQ history, Broadcast.com was acquired by Yahoo!. Subsequent to Yahoo!, Brandon cofounded Musicforce.com, a niche-music site that in under a year went from inception, to financing ($3MM Series A), to acquisition (valued the company at over $30MM). Other recent ventures include a mobile device OS company, a hosted VOIP provider, and a number of not-for-profit endeavors. Brandon lives in Dallas with his wife and three kids. When not working he loves to wakeboard, golf, and shoot (video and photo).

Prior to Viewzi, Stephen grew and led the user experience teams at both Sabre Travel Network and Bright Corner, a small creative and technology services company he co-founded in 2001. There he worked with a variety of businesses to create valuable online and offline customer experiences, with a special focus on custom business applications. Stephen has worked on Web 2.0-style applications with small startups as well as larger usability and information architecture projects for enterprise clients such as Nokia, Frito-Lay and Chesapeake Energy. A former high school English teacher, Stephen brings a love for language and cognitive learning theories to the design profession.

As time permits, Stephen enjoys sharing his thoughts at poetpainter.com.

Aaron Martin
Aaron Martin // Director of Design

Aaron Martin: A designer, with roughly 10 years in both online and offline media design, Aaron strives to solve problems as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

Working out of Southern California, Aaron realizes that he's living a life most Minnesotans dream about while shoveling snow and eating moose jerky.

In his off time, Aaron enjoys photography, design, fine-tuning his hipster music taste, driving with no predetermined destination, most forms of art, and reading ridiculously long American History books. Occassionaly he blogs at iamaaronmartin.com.

Aaron has nothing against Minnesotans. He is well aware of the impact that Minnesotans have had on American life; including Bob Dylan, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, and Jean Paul Getty. (See, we told you he reads history books.)

Steve DeVoll
Steve DeVoll // Chief Technology Officer

Steve DeVoll: Steve has lead the technical efforts of many organizations, including serving as CTO for Musicforce.com, Stick Networks, Workflow Designs, and Sharp Focus Productions. Passionate about solving problems through software and organizing and motivating teams that can continue that tradition, Steve is a proven team builder with deep technical skills and a wide-ranging software development background designing, implementing and deploying distributed, embedded, and web-based systems for collaborative applications.

When not architecting software, Steve enjoys movies and all manner of electronic gadgets, and blogs sporadically at devoll.net.

Travis Isaacs
Travis Isaacs // Director of Viewzer Experience

Travis Isaacs: Travis brings to Viewzi a unique blend of creative and technical talents, including interaction design, visual design, and web development. He strives to completely re-imagine how people experience search results.

Travis’s passion for design has taken him to many industries, including designing shopping sites for high fashion glasses retailer ReadingGlasses.com, to most recently building industry-changing interfaces for Sabre Travel Network and Travelocity.com.

When not designing for Viewzi, Travis writes on his personal site, loves photography, and plays the drums (wondering what it would have been like to be a rock star).

Manoj Pawar
Manoj Pawar // Software Engineer

Manoj Pawar: Manoj is an energetic power house who is full of enthusiasm. He recently graduated from UT Dallas with a 4.0 where he studied artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, and cracking "Search". As a music addict he can be found spinning records at clubs or strumming his guitar in his leisure time.

Joshua Stearns
Joshua Stearns // Designer

Joshua Stearns: When not surfing, you might find Joshua up late nights working on interactive projects from his studio in the Hawai'ian Islands. Joshua founded Zero Style, a design shop that focuses on all things digital and analog.

Joshua also takes some cute pictures of people.

Nathan Smith
Nathan Smith // Front-End Viewzeloper

Nathan Smith: Nathan has been building websites since late last century, and enjoys hand-coding HTML, CSS and JavaScript. When not elbow deep in code, he dabbles in design and information architecture. A proponent of open source software, he co-authored Textpattern Solutions, a book on PHP driven content management. He has also written for online and paper publications such as Adobe Developer Center, Digital Web and .Net Magazine. He blogs occasionally at his personal site, SonSpring.

In the past, he worked as a consultant on large scale transactional sites for various clients, and was an in-house designer at a Fortune 50 company. Off the clock, he is wrapping up a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary via correspondence. He is the founder of the Godbit Project, a community resource aimed at helping churches and ministries make better use of the web. He is also the creator of the 960 Grid System, a lightweight framework for sketching, designing and coding page layouts. Friends and family have described him as mildy amusing, but in reality he is somewhat dull.

Rob Gungor
Rob Gungor // Flash Developer

Rob Gungor: Rob strikes a good balance between an eye for design and a mind for function. Finding someone that fits between the design nature of Flash and the programming needs of Flash based applications can be difficult. Rob is very capable on both parts.

If he's not Viewzing, he's probably in the studio recording. He also enjoys long walks on the beach and romantic movies.

He also blogs about all things AS3 on iheartactionscript.com.

Jay Horne
Jay Horne // Product Manager

Jay Horne: For the past decade, Jay has brought new ideas to life as a technology product manager—most recently doing so with teams he hand picked across two continents. He melds technical curiosity and creativity with a strong interest in business success. He enjoys mediating the sometimes conflicting interests of design and business goals. Put differently, Jay likes being the filling in an Oreo cookie, or he would, if it didn't sound so weird.

Jay has a degree in Electrical Engineering with a double major in Philosophy and strong software engineering roots, allowing him to serve as translator between those who code and those who don't. Recently Jay has demonstrated his extreme flexibility and serious commitment to success by switching from his HP laptop to a MacBook Pro.

A.J. Magnuson
A.J. Magnuson // Developer & Product Manager

A.J. Magnuson: According to A.J., the next generation of search is going to come from innovation in visual interfaces and harnessing the power of the wisdom of crowds. After graduating with a degree in Cognitive Science in 2004, he has worked extensively in vertical search, visual search, social networking, and viral engineering. Though his passion is in envisioning products and bringing them to life, he also enjoys getting his hands dirty. He has developed applications on social networking platforms such as Facebook's F8, Bebo, Hi5, and Friendster that have amassed a total user base in the tens of millions.

In his free time, A.J. writes songs, sings, and plays guitar for his San Francisco rock band.

Giovanni Gallucci
Giovanni Gallucci // Social Media Ninja

Giovanni Gallucci: A recovering .NET programmer turned tech evangelist who provides strategy for social media, brand development, and PR at Viewzi. Giovanni designed, developed and deployed online communities when MySpace was no one's space, has used a Mac since before the “i” anything, and created vertical search engines when Larry and Sergey were still undergrads.

The nexus of Giovanni's online universe can be found at http://gallucci.net. Giovanni regularly speaks at national events like ad:tech, GotSocialMedia, The eMarketing Summit, FlashForward, Macworld, PRSA, refresh, and Search Engine Watch Live! and has been covered in a variety of media outlets including AdWeek, Clickz News, The Dallas Morning News, The Houston Chronicle, iMediaConnection, Inc., InfoWorld, ITConversations, NBC, The New York Times, The London Telegraph, and USA Today among others.

Jared Christensen
Jared Christensen // Designer

Jared Christensen: is a web and graphic designer living and working in the greater Dallas, Texas metroplex. As an all-round user experience designer, Jared makes sure that systems, interfaces, language and graphics are human-friendly, emotive, aesthetically pleasing, clear, on-brand and usable—with a touch of mellow smoothness. He has brought his knowledge and skills to bear on projects for clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to bootstrapped startups. He also fancies himself to be somewhat of a writer, but sadly he has little to say.

In his spare time, Jared can be found hardwired to his iTunes library, watching movies, reading, sleeping or going to the occasional tinnitus-inducing concert. He also regularly pulls the Pain Train into Catharsis Station for a little Call of Duty or Team Fortress 2 action.

Dawn Yoder
Dawn Yoder // Office Manager & Chef

Dawn Yoder: Office Manager and Chef, joined the Viewzi team in July, 2007. When she is not assisting the Chief Viewzer, she serves as den-mother to the rest of the Viewzi team. Dawn has been serving in executive assistance and office management roles for over a decade—this in addition to her extensive catering experience. When not at Viewzi, Dawn is mother of three, a studio guitarist, Gospel singer and music arranger. An SMU graduate, she is most proud that her kids are all accomplished musicians.
